Hailed as the Michelangelo of modern sculpture, Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) undeniably revolutionized this ancient medium. Through his modeling of clay and ardent experiments with the human form, Rodin captured the deepest passions while simultaneously reflecting on the fragility of existence. On the tour, you will experience Rodin’s studio process through the eyes of an artist. Your artist-guide will provide unique insight into the sculptor's diverse techniques in a manner understandable for all audiences. It would be an absolute delight to explore with you how the twisted, dancing limbs; the monumental, immersive enlargements; the bursting blocks of raw stone and polished skin; the entangled, sinuous bodies; the singular mind and powerful hand of Rodin transformed the art of sculpture into living flesh, sublime movement, pure expression.

    Rodin Museum: Join our artist-guide at the entrance of the Hôtel Biron, the 18th century mansion that houses the Rodin museum. Together, we will explore the rococo architecture of the building, a work of art in itself. We will trace Rodin’s artistic evolution from his classical beginnings to his unfinished masterpieces. We will experience firsthand the feverish plaster sketches so central to his creative method and delve into his artistic alliances (to the literary genius, Balzac or former-collaborator, Camille Claudel).
