From the 11th century Hohensalzburg is one of the largest and best preserved fortresses in Europe. If Napoleon had not come, it might never have been conquered.

city and mountains.

This venue was hewn directly into the Mönchsberg in the late 18th
century. It was used as an archiepiscopal summer riding school. With a capacity of 1,437 spectators, it is today one of the most important concert halls in Salzburg.

All the history was wonderful and then add SoM sites. We had a marvelous time. The food was awesome and to have a small group of just the 4 of us was nice. We paid for the private tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable. Learned alot.

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Europe in April 2024. Our tour guide was most certainly the most knowledgeable person on the Sound of Music and an exceptional guide.
