Itinerary

  • Stockholm Old Town

    Gamla Stan / The Old Town The panoramic tour will take you to several of the 14 islands of the city, and your guide will give you a historic picture of how the city was founded, and the tour will finish in the Old Town ,Gamla Stan, where you will get an introduction. Here you can choose to have a quick look around or have your guide drop you here to have some time on your own for shopping, lunch, coffee and sightseeing. Tell your guide how many hours your would like to stay here and your guide will arrange a car back to your ship/hotel or make yourself back.

  • Vasa Museum

    This nr.1 attraction in Stockholm with 1,5 million visitors per year is truly a “must see”. This warship capsized and sank in 1628, and was salvaged in 1961. The ship had space for 450 men, and is bigger that most visiters have expected. Built from oak, and 98% intact there is nothing like her anywhere in the world. We will get you priority access so you don´t have to wait more than a few minutes in line, where the waiting in other cases can take 1-2 hours. Your guide will tell you the amazing story about this beauty. Admissions paid as you enter by credit card.

  • Storkyrkan (Pass By)

    The Cathedral from 1279 has been Lutheran since1527 and here you can see some unique objects like the sculpture of St George and the Dragon from 1489 and Vädersolstavlan from 1535.

  • Royal Palace (Pass By)

    The Royal Palace from 1754 is located in the Old Town and is one of the largest palaces in Europe with more than 1400 rooms. It is still in use by the Royal family, but they don´t live here anymore. Every day the Changing of the guards take place outside the Palace around noon. It is possible to visit the Royal apartments and several of it´s museums.

  • Stockholm City Hall

    This is Stockholm´s most famous building, well known for hosting the Nobel Banquette every year in December. This is also the municipal political building of the city and has some of the most interesting architecture from the beginning of the former century. Most spectacular is probably the Golden Hall which is dressed with more than 18 million pieces of golden mosaic. Also from outside it is an impressive building with it´s 106 meter tall clocktower and beautiful garden by the lake Mälaren.

  • The Stockholm Concert Hall (Pass By)

    The Concert Hall is located by the Haymarket and dates back from 1926. Outside the entrance you can find several sculptures by Carl Milles. The buildning is shown to the world every year on the 10th of December when the Nobel Prize ceremony is held here.

  • Royal Dramatic Theater (Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern) (Pass By)

    This is Swedens National theatre and was one of the most costly building to be constructed in it´s time. It was opened in 1908, built in Jugend Style and is a piece of art that really stads out from all other buildings in the city.

  • Kungliga Djurgarden (Pass By)

    This island is often referred to as "the green island" or the museum island. The Vasa museum, the Nordic museum and the ABBA museum are all located here, as well as several art exhibitions, like the famous Prins Eugens Waldermarsudde. We will also see the amusement park Gröna Lund and Skansen open air museum.

  • Fjallgatan

    This is probably the best high viewpoint in the city. From here you can see most of the city and the ports of many of the cruise ships, the island DjurgĂĄrden and the roofs and steeples of several old churches. If you are going to take ONE picture of Stockholm, take it here !

  • The Western Bridge (Pass By)

    This bridge from 1935 takes us from the Södermalm island to Kungholmen and it is more than 600 meters. Västerbron is the longest bridge of the city and has a great view to offer.

We really enjoyed our tour with Thomas! He was very accommodating to our tastes and needs! He had a fun and friendly personality and was very flexible to our group’s preferences! The Mercedes van was comfortable and accommodating our family of 6 well. Thomas was very knowledgeable about anything Stockholm we asked about and he provided excellent historical commentary and context throughout the tour. We highly recommend this tour to any small group who would like individualized care and sight seeing while in Stockholm!

Highly recommended by our whole group!! Wouldn’t do it any other way!

We had young adults, middle aged and an elder. He made the pace for us and customized the tour to what our interests were with a great attitude! Also, he had vast knowledge of history and the whole of Stockholm. We could ask him almost anything and he knew some facts and history! The Mercedes van was very comfortable for our family of six. I highly, and mean highly recommend this tour company and request Thomas Andersson. First, my wife informed Thomas that I have very bad knees and needed some accommodation. Thomas made certain everywhere we went we had easy access. Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable and we got to see many of the different parts and islands of magnificent Stockholm. With Thomas you skip the lines at the remarkable Vasa Museum and virtually every place we went. Thomas made lunch reservations at one of the truly amazing traditional Swedish restaurants and we had a wonderful lunch together and talked about everything. I felt in six hours I learned more about and saw more of beautiful Stockholm than I would attempting to do so on our own. Worth every penny and we felt that we made a wonderful new friend as well. Beautiful Mercedes van and very comfortable. Absolutely use this group!
