Overview

This tour takes you on a journey through the history of the Eternal City. It explores the sites and structures that marked Rome's rise to becoming a superpower of the Mediterranean . You will hear about the Republic of Rome, one of the first versions of democracy in human history, and then its transformation into the Roman Empire through a series of civil wars. Unquestionably the most enduring empire in western history, this tour will try to explain why that system eventually failed, leading to the fall of Rome, and a succession of new powers controlling the Italian peninsula. You will witness the works of great masters such as Bernini in the pinnacacle of Italian Baroque. Starting the tour where a pilgrim would enter the city, you will finish where their pilgrimage would end, close to the largest Christian church in the world, St Peter's. By the end of your tour, we are certain Rome will feel like a very different place.

I'll be back since it's so interesting

I took that trip over two months ago, but since I'm new to giving reviews on this platform, I feel like that experience deserves a seperate mention. I just came back from US, and as a comparison, some heavily paid tours that i took there weren't even half as good. A LOT of information, A LOT of places and so many great people you meet along the way.

Incredible tour. Our guide was outstanding- more knowledgeable than we could have asked for, attentive and his excitement about the city and it's history was contagious. We went in excited to get a better understanding of Rome, it's history and landmarks and left eager to do more exploring and research on our own. The tour itself covered a large area and some lesser known places we would have missed. The gelato and coffee break in the middle of the tour was a wonderful touch and was a Roma historical business as well! The tour gave us a greater appreciation of the city, it's landmarks, streets, and history. Lots of great tips for what we were interested in too! Don't be afraid to ask questions. Would definitely recommend this specific tour for anyone just getting to Rome and wanting to understand it's history and layout. Even if you are familiar with the city, all the information learned is worth it. Based on this tour alone, I think it would be worthwhile to book with them.

The tour we took with Nick was amazing! He was deeply knowledgeable about Rome and its history. He tailored the tour to some of our interests and was able to answer all of our questions. On top of all this, he was friendly and was lovely to spend 3.5 hours with. I’m so glad I took this tour while in Rome.
