Overview

The 3 hours walking tour will be an eye-opening experience to discover a different face of Palermo, a city which is rebelling against the Mafia.Guided by locals, you will deepen your knowledge of the notorious Sicilian mob and learn about the anti-mafia movement. The Teatro Massimo, the open-air market "Il Capo", the Memorial dedicated to prosecutors and judges killed by the Mafia), the Cathedral, the City Hall and Piazza Pretoria: every stop is a cause for reflection, a chance to mull over the realities of the Mafia and consider the civic movement against Mafioso power.

  • Teatro Massimo (Pass By)

    Teatro Massimo, a place that for many is linked to the imagery of the film The Godfather, to show you a new image of Palermo.

  • Capo Street Market (Pass By)

    We continue on foot to the Mural of Legality to Beati Paoli Square, passing by the famous and picturesque Capo Market

  • piazza della Memoria (Pass By)

    We reach Piazza della Memoria, with the memorial dedicated to the magistrates killed by the Mafia, and then again the Cathedral, where the issue of relations between the Mafia and the Catholic Church is addressed.

  • Palermo (Pass By)

    Last stop: the City Hall, which also experienced the season of the Palermo Spring."

Spring Mafia History Walking Tour

Gaining insight from a knowledgeable Sicilian guide on the harm the Mafia causes to Italian society. Frederico passionate on his subject and the need for change to better the lives of ordinary Italians. 3 hours passed very quickly however I would not recommend for children. The weather was perfect. Could be more challenging in high summer due to temperatures and crowds
