Overview

You will learn to make pasta, and some fantastic Italian dishes with fun. I'm specialized in using produce that is organic, locally grown.I want to provide you an organic and sustainable experience. I provide guests the best selections of organic food and we only cook with extra virgin organic olive oil. On request I can make also glueen free class or kids cooking class.  Menu: two kind of pasta hand made, an italian dessert siders, wines olive oil and wine tasting and farm visit. My philosophy from the beginning has been to serve whole natural foods that are minimally processed. Where ever possible we produce our items in house here at the slow cooking school.

Meeting points

We are at my organic farm house. On google map you may see the name of the road vocabolo Poggio. There are signs all along the road with the name FONTANARO. Please park outside the gate at the olive trees shades and ring the bell at the gate. On the left there is the pedestrian gate.

Itinerary

We will meet at il Fontanaro Organic Farm house in Paciano. We are at 15 minutes from Chiusi Chianciano train Station, Siena. We will offer you a coffee and we will start with an olive and wine tasting, than we will cook together the lunch making all the pastas and food by hand. I'm a professional olive and wine sommelier and i will be happy to share with you all the secret of good wines and oils. The menu is characterized by organic seasonal vegetables. We offer also a gluten free class, kids cooking class, to be asked in advance. We can provide high chair for kids and baby sitting during the class if needed.

The perfect Italian respite

Alina's cooking class was an amazing experience! We met three interesting couples and had a great time learning how to make pasta, pasta and more pasta! We were lucky enough to stay in Sangiovese at Il Fontanaro and will definitely be back. It was quiet and peaceful ... a nice respite from the big crowds in Italy's major cities.

Truly an Umbrian Country Experience

I am the owner of Village Vacations in Italy and I brought my clients to Slow Cooking School for a cooking class and olive oil tasting. What an incrediable day we had. They made 3 different sauces, pasta, ravioli, lasagna, Gnocchi and a rasberry tiramisu. Ailina's cooking class is truly an Umbrian country experience.

Wonderful morning cooking with Alina

I attended Alina's cooking course this morning at her Il Fontanara kitchen in Paciano. What a delightful and informative morning. Alina is vivacious and engaging, and her assistant was also eager to please and guide. I appreciated that it was a hands-on lesson rather than a demonstration. We rolled out three different shapes of pasta, which were cooked and added to three different delicious sauces. We enjoyed lunch as a a group under the vines, accompanied by her easy to drink red wine and lemoncello. Perhaps less intimidating to make was the tasty tiramisu, and ingredients will be easy to source from home. I might have to attempt the home made pasta at home as I'll probably never enjoy it as much out of a packet again! At the end of the lesson we could purchase her olive oil and other accessories, including a great t-shirt. I was also fascinated by her explanation of the production of olive oil, and the importance of checking that the bottle says harvested and bottled at the same origin. All in all one of my best mornings in Umbria so far. Thank you Alina.

Delightful cooking class in Italy

This was such an incredible experience. The host was so welcoming and her property is delightful. We got to pick cherry tomatoes for the meal and made 3 different kinds of pasta for our meal. Wow! That isn’t as easy as it looks ha. I learned so much in just a few short hours. The olive oil they produce is my new favorite. I think we will be having more shipped ha. This was a five star experience hands down.
