Overview

The Major War Criminals Trial was held before the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg from November 20, 1945 to October 1, 1946. As a result of this trial, Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice gained worldwide notoriety. From 1946 to 1949, 12 "Subsequent Trials" were held in the same courtroom before exclusively U. S. American military tribunals. . Still to this day, in the southeast corner of Nuremberg, the remains of structures located on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds impress visitors with their immense proportions and stand as vivid testimony to the megalomania of the National Socialist regime. This area of 4 square miles was intended to be an impressive backdrop for the Nazi party rallies and serve to demonstrate their power not only to Germany, but to the entire world. An interesting tour

This was an interesting tour, with lots of details added by our guide. I didn't know that Adidas & Hugo Boss made boots & uniforms for the German Army. If you are interested in WW2 history then it is a must & even if you're not a history enthusiast, the tour is brought alive by the interesting information given. It would have been good to have a little more time at the Courtroom 600 exhibit but we decided to be taken back to our hotel by our guide, rather than opting to say goodbye to our guide at the Courtroom & make our way back by public transport. It was amazing to see how huge these sites were when they were in use.

The info that our guide told us to explain more than we were expecting than just the sites we were looking at. More time in the exhibition of courtroom 600 would have been better. We were offered this but chose to be taken back to our hotel rather than stay longer & come back by public transport.

Not your boring tour guide. Our guide Rob shared interesting stories of history, was lively and friendly. Made the tour fun and interactive. Was nice especially dealing with such a heavy topic.
