Overview

Sail on a classic sailboat in Newport, RI, and enjoy a sightseeing sailing experience around Narragansett Bay. Pass by many iconic sights during the sail, including Newport's historic lighthouses and landmarks, bridges, mansions and more! We'll even see Newport Bridge, New England's largest suspension bridge from the water. Relax on deck of Schooner Madeleine, a beautiful classic sailboat, as the crew raises sail. Drinks are available for purchase onboard and guests are welcome to bring a snack. This sightseeing sailing experience is great for locals and those visiting Newport in the spring, summer and fall.

Meeting points

We're located at 24 Bannister's Wharf off America’s Cup Ave and south of the Newport Harbor Hotel. Look for a large flagpole, turn toward the water, walk down the brick walkway past the lemonade stand and take a left. Look for the big green canvas canopy above our ticket booth.

    Sail past the iconic sights of Newport including seeing some historic lighthouses and mansions as we sail around Narragansett Bay

  • Newport Harbor Light (Pass By)

    Newport Harbor Light is one of the best known lighthouses in Newport. During this experience, we'll see this historic lighthouse from the 1800s as we sail by.

  • Fort Adams State Park (Pass By)

    See this historic US Army post established in 1799 from the water as we sail by on the water

  • Hammersmith Farm (Pass By)

    See this historic Newport mansion from the water during your sailing experience. Hammersmith Farm is the former summer white house of JFK

  • Please do not bring your own beverages
  • Please note parking is difficult in Newport, especially on weekends. Allow at least 60 minutes to park, especially on weekends and holidays as no refunds are given for missing the boat. Guests should plan to arrive at our ticket booth 20 minutes prior to your departure time to check-in. The boat will leave promptly at the scheduled departure time. Please plan accordingly and allow for ample time for parking. For questions about weather, cancelations or rescheduling please call 401.847.0000.
  • Groups of 10 or more, whether booked together or separately, will be contacted by the operator for a 15% gratuity. Multiple large group bookings are subject to added fees or cancellation by operator

Amazing and highly recommend

This was the first time my husband and I had ever been on a schooner (Sail boat). We had an amazing time and took tons of pictures. The crew was very friendly and informative about the schooner and things that we saw. The crew made you really feel at home on the schooner and we "Thank them" very much for the incredible experience. We highly recommend the cruise.
