This was one of the best excursions we did while based in Cusco. The salt mines were unlike anything I've ever seen before, beautiful and surreal. The agricultural terraces at Moray were also incredible—I don't necessarily consider myself to be someone who is super interested in agriculture, but Moray changed this for me. It was so impressive to learn how the Inca managed the microclimates to produce such a diverse food supply. Our tour guide Claudio was very knowledgable and offered the perspective of someone who had personally grown up in the area. He also took great pictures of us. We purchased a good number of our souvenirs from the gift shop near Moray, where we were also able to taste samples—lots of nice salts and chocolates!
