Overview

On this full-day tour you will see the picturesque villages of Varenna and Bellagio. We will meet at 10:30 am in Como city and go with the fast boat/hydrofoil directly to Bellagio (50 min). There, we will do a walking tour. After a break for lunch, we will take a ferry to Varenna (15 min). Then, we will return with hydrofoil boat to Como showing you all the villages with their historic villas and famous gardens on Lake Como during the trip, e.g. Villa of G. Clooney, Villa Balbianello (Star Wars and James Bond), Villa Carlotta etc.

Meeting points

The guide will wait for you in front of the Armani Store on the central square Piazza Cavour.

Itinerary

  • Piazza Cavour

    At the beginning of the tour from the main square in Como, Piazza Cavour, the visitors will be explained the main sights and tourist attractions of the city. Furthermore, they will receive tips and information about activities thay can do during their entire stay. Also practical questions of any kind will be answerted by the guide.

  • Lake Como

    During the boat ride, travellers will have a chance to admire the particular landscape mix of Lake Como with its pre-alpine and Mediterranean features Villages on the lakeshore will be pointed out and its historic/famous villas described (e.g. Villa d'Este, ex-villa of G. Versace, villa of George Clooney, Villa Carlotta, Villa Melzi etc.).

  • Bellagio

    In this famous village we will walk through the narrow streets and picturesque staircases, enjoy the view from the Promenade Europa and stop at the L.F. Kennedy monument.

  • Basilica di San Giacomo

    We will visit the main church in Bellagio, the Basilica di San Giacomo. Architectural style and main art pieces will be explained.

    20 minutes

  • Varenna

    We will visit the most romantic town on Lake Como with its winding staircases and the famous Lovers Walk.

    1 hour 30 minutes

  • Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista

    We will visit the oldest church in Varenna, the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. Architectural style and main art pieces will be explained.

    20 minutes

  • Chiesa di San Giorgio

    We will visit the main church in Varenna, the San Giorgio Church. Architectural style and main art pieces will be explained.

An enjoyable stress free way to visit Vareena and Bellagio from Como. Violetta was a great guide, informative and helpful throughout the day. This is a busy tourist spot with long queue's to get onto ferry’s but Violetta made it easy for us.

What can I say about this stunning place? Breathtaking views and scenery, lovely eateries, beautiful weather, put it this way, I filled up with tears it is that beautiful. If you ever get the chance you really must visit. I will return one day to this majestic place.

Violetta was wonderful, kind, patient, and informative. We had to re-schedule because of logistics, and she stayed in touch and was very accommodating. In this OVERLY busy season (every boat was packed) I would recommend a tour like this to help navigate the craziness. Thank you Violetta!

Our tour guide Violetta was fantastic! She knew all the tricks with the ferry so we didn’t have to worry about getting to and from the different cities. She was so knowledgeable, willing to take pictures, knew all the secret spots. We felt we had a perfect amount of time in each city. She set up an amazing lunch reservation for us. We had an amazing time!

Visited on a perfect winters day and Como did not disappoint. The weather was perfect. Had some great food and wine at Lantica Riva and a lovely boat trip around the lake. Well worth the short drive from Milan for a lovely day excursion
