Overview

After we pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna, we will start to chase the northern lights that depends on each night according to the weather conditions. We can drive to Abisko, Kiruna’s boreal forest or wherever we can find clear sky to see Aurora Borealis. Lights of Vikings have a really high success rate in finding clear sky which is one of the most important criteria to see the Northern Lights. Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings. After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots. As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. After the northern lights tour, we will drive you back to Kiruna.

Highly recommend this tour!

Definitely highly recommend this tour! Extremely impressed by the lengths this company will go to find northern lights. They will drive as far as Norway if needed to find the lights! The forecast was looking very poor for our tour and they gave us the option to cancel for a full refund recognizing that our chances of seeing the aurora would be low. We decided to still give it a try and were very lucky that we had an incredible view of the lights! In addition to chasing for aurora, Robin gave lots of information about the region and even prepared a campfire. And huge bonus of getting digital copies of all of the guide's photos at the end. Amazing tour!

We just finished an incredible 3-day tour chasing Northern Lights, and I couldn’t be more happy! Dimitri and Robin were absolutely amazing guides—knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly passionate. They led us with such enthusiasm and professionalism, making each stop special. We were incredibly lucky because, during our tour, the sky erupted in a breathtaking dancing lights! It was a moment that will forever stay in my heart, and I am so grateful to have shared this unique experience, especially with my parents. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to witness the magic of the Aurora with exceptional guides!

We were picked up by our guide Dimitri at the designated point, and driven to the destination for the evening, somewhere near Jukkasjärvi, where we met up with a group his wife had picked up. When parked, the ones needing overalls got handed those and then we walked for about 7 mins before arriving at a lake. The aurora took its time to show up so the guides made a fire to keep us warm, offering gingerbread cookies, chocolate and hot lingonberry juice by the fire. When the aurora appeared they were happy to take pictures of everyone who wanted to, and to help those wanting to take pictures with their own cameras. We stayed out until around midnight before heading back to Kiruna. The pictures the guides took were uploaded to a dropbox well within the promised three days.

Dimitri was very knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. They took us to an awesone spot with a nice wooden cabin to warm up in.
