  • Liverpool Cathedral

    Here you will see one of the final works by one of the most famous female sculptures of the modern era. You will have a tour of the Lady Chapel and with its famous stained-glass windows this will set the scene for learning about some amazing women, depicted in the windows that have had a long-lasting influence Liverpool’s history and development. Admission to the Cathedral by donation is included in the ticket price.

    With some famous alumni, you hear about the important role this this grade II listed building has played in the education of girls and women.

    Often called the "Harley Street of the North” your will hear about some of Rodney Street’s famous female residents.

    With its history as Hope Hall, you will learn about the bohemian environment and political edge of this site and the links with the ground-breaking movements including the suffragettes.

Terrific afteroonon and we brought the tour title of 'Inspirational Women of Liverpool' to life! Pam was so insightful and had so much to share regarding the women of Liverpool who have contributed so much in the past up to the current day. The other guests on the tour (all female I may add but it would have been equally enjoyable for any gent wishing to join!) were truly amazing, helping me navigate steep slopes and busy areas with my Mum in her wheel chair. It meant we could all enjoy the history, culture and fun of a terrific city! Thanks Liverpool Walking Tours! Thanks Pam the tour guide! Thanks to the other guests. What a great afternoon!

We met Pam, our guide, exactly as planned and she was a mine of information. She slightly altered the tour to allow for some of the older members of our party but we didn’t miss anything and she even gave us chance to view the gents toilet at the Philharmonic pub. A really good and interesting tour

Recommended walk about famous women

Our guide, Jean, took us on a walk around Liverpool focusing on famous women. It wasn't rushed but we covered about 3 miles. Jean spoke very clearly and engagingly so as we didn't miss anything. She was very knowledgeable and could answer questions. Most of the tour was outside but there were two very interesting stops to visit Liverpool Cathedral and Victoria Gallery and Museum. Highly recommended.
