Overview

Hidden behind unassuming doors on Seel Street lies Alcotraz, a spekeasy prison staffed with crooked guards to help you smuggle liquor past the Warden and get it into the hands of the "longest-serving" inmates. Inspired by Hollywood Movies and TV that have brought to life prison stories, Alcotraz is Liverpool's first immersive theatrical cocktail bar. From the orange jumpsuits upon entrance, to the real metallic cells, Alcotraz becomes the perfect backdrop to enjoy delicious, bespoke cocktails within an epic yet intimate environment. You won’t find a set menu of drinks here, after all, it is prison! Alcotraz creates a range of tailored cocktails every night based on the liquor you bring and your tastes. Luckily, Inmate Cassidy has the Guards are on your side who have creative ways of hiding contraband.

Itinerary

Inspired by Hollywood Movies and TV that have brought to life America's infamous prison stories, Alcotraz is Liverpool's first immersive theatrical cocktail bar. From the orange jumpsuits upon entrance, to the real metallic cells, Alcotraz becomes the perfect backdrop to a drink within an epic yet intimate environment. You won’t find a set menu of drinks here…after all, it is prison! The working inmates of Alcotraz will be serving unique, personalised cocktails behind bars using the liquor that visiting convicts will have smuggled in and your personal tastes. As new inmates you can expect to see your illegally smuggled liquor combined with liqueurs, bitters and homemade syrups to make bespoke, contemporary and classic cocktails perfect for your time behind bars. Be as creative as you can with your attempts to smuggle-in liquor. Alternatively, Inmate Cassidy has got the Guards on your side who have their own system for hiding contraband. Just make sure the Warden doesn’t catch you.

We had a great time at Alcotraz, the staff were great, very well organised and cocktails were good. We would definitely recommend this for a giggle!

HILARIOUS and Absolutely BRILLIANT! Highly recommend doing this. From start to finish our group was in stitches. One of the best experiences I’ve had. The ‘actors’ are amazing at their jobs and staying in character all the while. They don’t single anyone out. Be sure to go in with an open mind, a sense of humour and not be easily offended. It’s not just dress up in a jump suit, sit in a cell and drink your cocktails. It’s more of an interaction experience with a ‘story’. Don’t want to give too much away but listen to the ‘clues’ you get given at the start of the experience from the actors when you walk in and they’re explaining rules/what to expect etc. You ‘smuggle’ your own alcohol in and they do double with you how you prefer your cocktails, sweet, spicy etc. Cater to all needs including mocktails.

Wow it was so much fun would defo do it again the actors are amazing and don’t ever break character, nothing is too much trouble and will cater to everyone - the cocktails keep flowing and they are scrummy
