Overview

We start visiting the hanging bridges of Mistico park. The guide is with you to help you learn about the ecosystem. Hiking over the bridges and trails you enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding forest, Arenal volcano and lake. From here we take a short drive to the park that's right at the foot of the volcano. We hike a trail through the big lava rocks from the '68 eruption Here we reach a viewpoint with amazing views of the Arenal volcano, the surrounding lava fields and the Northern valley. We then stop at a restaurant where they serve a wide variety of local-style dishes. Now it's time to get wet. A 20minuts hike through a jungle staircase takes you into a deep canyon to the immense la Fortuna waterfall. You can swim in the refreshing pool of the waterfall and hang around on the big rocks to relax for a while. Having experienced all of this you can choose if you want to join us on a visit to a small hot springs resort. To add to the fun we pour some typical style cocktails.

In this nature and activity-filled day, you will go on an immersive journey through La Fortuna and Arenal area. With the guidance of a professional bilingual guide, you will explore a series of spectacular natural attractions. The adventure begins as you traverse the hanging bridges, suspended amidst the lush rainforest. Each step offers breathtaking views Next, you will venture to the lava fields at the volcano's base, where a thrilling hike unveils the remnants of past volcanic activity. The raw power and geological wonders of the Arenal Volcano will leave you in awe, as your guide shares captivating insights about its history and significance. After enjoying a delicious typical lunch, you will journey to the impressive La Fortuna waterfall. Descending along a picturesque trail, you will witness the waterfall's majestic cascade As the day draws to a close, you will find solace in the region's renowned hot springs. Immerse yourself in their soothing waters, allowing their therapeutic embrace to wash away any fatigue and provide moments of pure relaxation Throughout the day, your knowledgeable guide will accompany you, enriching your experience with fascinating facts and stories.

We had a fantastic day with Red Lava tours yesterday. Chris MQ was a fabulous guide. His ability to spot wildlife was incredible. We saw many types of birds, tarantulas, monkeys, and sloths. Staff made certain we were comfortable and responded quickly when our bus blew a tire. A long but fun day.

This tour was great! Our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife. It was a full day with lots of stops which was perfect for us. We had sufficient time at each stop and loved that we were able to experience so much in one day! The hanging bridges were our favorite!

This is so far the best trip we’ve done. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. My whole family loves it (2 adults and 3 teenage girls). We had plenty of time and never felt rushed. Our guide Chris MQ was amazing and made the tour that much better. He even made sure we all got pictures of everything we wanted. We saw so much and even learned alot of new things thanks to him. Our driver William was also wonderful. If you’re near the area this is a must do
