This trip was exactly as advertised. Picked up on time from our hotel and taken to the marina for snorkelling equipment rental (optional — we brought our own). Then fees were collected (5.50 Pesos per person for the harbor tax and 60 Pesos pp for National Park entry.
We cruised by some amazing (and empty) beaches and passed quite close to parts of the shoreline to see attractions like a natural blowhole.
After about an hour, we made our first stop to go in the water. We were surprised that such a large boat could make it to within a couple of feet of the beach.
We chose to swim by ourselves, but most chose to swim in a group.
We had two hours for this stop. An umbrella with two upright plastic chairs was 250 Pesos (recommended since there is no other shade). Drink and souvenir vendors passed by, but they were polite if you said “no gracias”.
Our second stop was for lunch. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant was under a big palapa to shield from the sun.
On the trip back, we stayed in deeper water to see if we could spot some wildlife and we saw a couple of turtles, some schools of fish and one flying fish.
All in all, a fun way to spend the day!
