Overview

On our Secret Food Tour of Downtown Las Vegas, you’ll discover that there’s far more to Sin City than the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas “Strip.” See where it all began. Learn why millions of dollars have been spent to keep the Downtown area alive and kicking. Join us as we travel back in time and walk in the footsteps of the opportunistic businessmen, fabled mobsters, and show business legends that helped transform a sleepy railroad town into one of the hottest tourist destinations on the planet. You’ll bask in the glow of the world’s largest 4K video screen as you hear the tales of “Bugsy” Siegel, Frank Sinatra, and Steve Wynn while you sample bites in tribute of local legends like Tony Hsieh, Evel Knievel, Elvis Presley, and more! Every casino has a story, their glittering neon signs serve as ghostlights into the past. Your guide will share these stories with you, and perhaps a few secrets along the way, on this not-to-be missed journey into the heart of the "Sin City".

Meeting points

We will meet at The Plaza Hotel and Casino at 1 Main St. Las Vegas, NV 89101.

End point

Open in Google Maps

The tour will end near the El Cortez located at 600 E Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89101 USA.

Your guide will meet you in front of the giant metallic praying mantis next to the entrance of the Downtown Container Park, centerpiece of Tony Hsieh's $350 million investment to revitalize historic Downtown Las Vegas.

  • Fremont East District

In the Fremont East Entertainment District, you'll hear stories of Las Vegas' famous mafia past and sample bites in tribute to two of its most legendary entertainers; Evel Knievel and Elvis Presley!

  • N/A

Underneath the world's largest LED canopy video screen, you'll hear the story of how The Strip stole the light away from Downtown Las Vegas and how a popular European tourist attraction and Mr. Spock almost helped to save it.

  • Golden Nugget Casino

At what is known as Fremont Street's most luxurious resort and casino, guests will get a chance to see the world's largest golden nugget, get a glimpse at one of the world's most unique swimming pools, and gaze at chandeliers handcrafted by the same glass artist featured at The Bellagio.

  • Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel

Enjoy a complimentary margarita as you stroll through the world's first casino to offer free drinks to their guests before getting a group photo in front of an actual million dollars!

  • Casino at Main Street Station

In what is possibly Las Vegas' best kept secret, you guide will tour you through one of the city's most beautiful casinos and point out eclectic antiques sourced from around the world, including an actual piece of the Berlin Wall.
