Visit of the city Pinhão: Heart of the Douro Valley with its station and its river port without forgetting its bridge, the work of Gustave Eiffel. This is where the whole history of the valley started. Between the Quintas and the vineyards, Pinhão is the starting point of the famous Port Wine.

Visit of a typical village of the Douro Valley, visit of Miradouros (Belvederes) and historical monuments its old stones, its fountains, First tasting of Port wines with visit of Quinta (estate) or Adega (winemaker's house) with a selection of wines from small producers. Walk in the vineyards.

Deanna was a great tour guide. My daughter and I enjoyed the tour. Pinhao is a beautiful area. We learned more about Port and tasted wonderful wines.

Beautiful day in the Douro Valley

A great day in and around Pinhao. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The tours and port wine and varietal wine tastings as two wineries were great. Local restaurant for lunch was delicious.

Great tour - get tickets directly from Douro Tours - much cheaper!

This was a fun tour but you can purchase tickets for 40€ less per person from the tour company itself (they charge 95€ per person, and they sell the tickets on site). We were pretty annoyed that we paid so much more by going through Viator - shame on them! If it was just a few euros, no problem, but €40 more is rediculous.

Great tour while staying in Pinhão!

Philip was an excellent tour guide. He is a local who knows the area very well and is passionate about the region. This tour had a great balance of driving, stops, and a boat ride. We started with a drive up the big hill of one side of the river to his hometown village where we stopped and he shared some history. From there we continued up and went around stopping at some stunning MiraDuoros along the way. We came back into town for a Port tour and tasting and then had lunch at a local restaurant. From there we went on one hour guided boat ride on the calm Duoro River. Afterwards, our last ride was up the hill from downtown to a winery for a tasting and tour. We ended at a stunning miraduoro with views of everywhere we traveled. We stayed two nights in Pinhão without a car and this was the perfect day trip to get all you need in this region. Although this tour was worth every euro, we were disappointed to find that tour is significantly marked up online. They offered the same tour for €40 less at the kiosk. Again, it was still worth it for a small guided tour!
