Overview

The experience takes place at Acetaia Malagoli Daniele. Daniele is Sofia's dad and at th age of 22 she decided to turn his hobby for Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena into a business. The house is based in the emilian countryside, in the between of Modena and Bologna. What to expect? Well, first of all a warm welcome, but also a professional explanation - surrounded by ancient barrels - on the black gold of Modena. The Malagolis are always glad to welcome tourists at their family’s Acetaia and to share their knowledge and passion with them. This is an educational experience where you'll learn a lot about the traditions of Modena, but especially on authentic products and how to recognize them. You'll learn the differences between the IGP Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and the DOP Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. They sound similar, they both are good products, but they are at the same time, different products, born for different reasons and it means that they should be also used differently. Moreover, you'll understand how to recognize them on the market.

I visitatori scopriranno gli usi, le tradizioni, i processi per fare l'Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena dop. Conosceranno quindi perchè i modenesi amano così tanto questo prodotto e, alla fine della spiegazione, lo assaggeranno nei diversi invecchiamenti. This was an awesome tour, the acetaia was so beautiful and I really learned a lot about both the history and the production of balsamic. Plus Elena was so knowledgeable and friendly and helped make this an awesome experience. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone who loves balsamic or wants to learn more about the history and culture of the area!

This mini tour was such an eye opener for how balsamic is produced. It gives a new meaning and appreciation for how expensive good balsamic is! I basically had a private tour and Elena was very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this so you too can appreciate how quality balsamic is made.
