This was an incredible experience from start to finish. Giacomo picked us up right on time in Modena. We were welcomed with a local wine, given a wonderful description of the process, and then taken up to see the ābattery āof barrels, where Giacomo patiently answered all of our questions as he showed us the differences between some of the barrels. There were so many interesting things that he shared with us-I particularly appreciated learning the differences between the different labels vinegars can have and what they mean.
Next, it was time for the tasting. I had no idea Balsamic Vinegar could be used as a condiment on so many foods! Multiple types of cheeses and hams were in plentiful supply, among other things. Definitely come hungry. The main course was a risotto that was incredible on its own, but also wonderful paired with the vinegar. We even tried it on one of the desserts!
We were delighted to learn a bit about the family from Giaccomo as well as the owner himself, who proudly introduced us to one of his daughters and his newest grandchild.
Note that you anre actually eating in the family home. Itās wonderful!
And there is, of course, the opportunity to buy some of the amazing vinegar. I love bringing back food from my travels that has a story. And will be delighted to tell everyone about this wonderful family, their product, and the amazing experience I had there.
All the wonderful reviews are spot on. Stop looking and book this experience.
