Overview

During December and January, explore the radiant wonderland of Medellín, named one of National Geographic’s top 10 places to see holiday lights, on a nighttime tour by private vehicle. Marvel at twinkling landscapes by the river, the city center, Parque Norte and  Envigado, and drive through picturesque bordering towns. A local guide takes you by car to the best lighting exhibits, and you enjoy the flexibility of disembarking from time to time to better capture the illuminated sights. Bonus: Pickup and drop-off from most Medellín hotels is included. It’s a tour by private car, NOT a chiva bus. In fact, the chiva bus is fun when you have all your family members together and everyone is able to tolerate each other. But we do not recommend a big chiva bus for a small group since it’s too much caos everyone drunk jumping on a bus with limited access to parking or restrooms. Private tour ensures a custom, safe, and professional experience without your phone stolen or getting hurt.

Daniel Pineda Christmas light tour 2024 was lit!!!!

Daniel Pineda was our private tour guide and he was on time, courteous and very knowledgeable. We went to 3 different sites and he explained the history of each and was on time picking us up at each stop. 1st stop the River lights , we were given 1hr to walk around. 2nd stop was in Sabanetta and there were an array of lights, food and great vibe. We stayed 30mins. 3rd stop wasn't really a stop as we never got out the car but instead drove around looking at lights in the local parks and streets. The car was a SUV so my family of 4 was comfortable. There weren't really any cons but something to note and I saw in another review. It may seem as if you are booking a bus but instead we had a private (Daniel) car pick us at the hotel and dropped us back off. I actually prefer this so I don't have to go looking for a meet up spot. Again, not a con but just be aware of this if you are looking for a bus experience.

We had an outstanding tour with Daniel. He went out of his way to show us various parts of the city and explain the history. The Christmas lights were absolutely fabulous. We truly enjoyed going to some of the local parks that were decorated and having some local food. The major park was busy but the lights were amazing. I would recommend this tour with Daniel to anyone coming to see the Christmas lights.
