Itinerary

  • Fort Fincastle

Fort Fincastle is a fort located in the city of Nassau on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. The fort was built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore. Built around 1793 on Society Hill, the fort overlooks the city of Nassau and the Queen’s Staircase, and is often accessed that way by visitors on foot.

    15 minutes

  • Queen's Staircase

The Queen's Staircase is a walkway of 66 steps in Nassau, the capital city of The Bahamas. It was carved out of solid limestone rock by 600 slaves between 1793 and 1794 to create an escape route from the fort above and is a major landmark of Nassau. This is located at the same stop as Fort Fincastle, ask your guide if you need assistance.

    15 minutes

  • Government House (Pass By)

Government House is the official residence of the Governor General of the Bahamas, located in Nassau. It was built in the colonial days and was the residence of the Governor of the Bahamas

  • Gregory's Arch (Pass By)

This stone arch was named after Governor John Gregory, who served around 1850, and it was opened to the public on January 19, 1852. When you pass through the arch going south on Market Street, you cross the line that divides downtown Nassau from the rest of the island. The small tunnel forms a picturesque entrance to the community known as Over The Hill and the old settlements of Grants Town and Bain Town.

  • The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory

The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory story begins in the heart of downtown Nassau, the Bahamas in the year 2000. George Bates, originally from the United Kingdom founded a recipe that would inspire his “Original” Rum Cake. Everyone loved his recipe so much that he decided to open a small Rum Cake shop, a store that has since then grown into the most favorite brand of Rum Cake in The Bahamas.

Great tour. Nice description of the various entities on the island. Easy pickup on disembarkation. Clean air conditioned van was very comfortable.

Great tour

I went on this tour with my husband and one year old. We had an amazing time and our tour guide Richard was very knowledgeable. It was very fascinating to learn about some of the history of the Bahamas. We even got to stop a few times to walk around, buy souvenirs, and visit the famous Bahamas Rum Cake Factory! I would definitely do a tour like this again the next time I am in the Caribbean.

Nassau tour was amazing

Published on Mar, 2024

The guide did a really good job showing the area with the limited time he had and keeping the mood fun. He was very knowledgeable and showed us many local areas. The only thing I wish they do different in the future is separate the trips for people who are in a rush as since we had to accommodate 1 group for time, the people who had more time were unable to see more. However, the tour itself was still awesome and I have no complaints about my guide.

We toured with Owen. He was very personable, loved his stories. Easy tour to do when you don’t have much time at the pier. Would do again.
