The pseudocraters at Skútustaðir were formed when lava floated into the lake and cooled down. We will stop here with a short walk to the viewing point.

The "dark castles" Beautiful lava formations with quite a bit of mystique to them. We will have a walk around the area and explore the formations and the story behind them

Grjotagja Cave

A cave with geothermal hot water in it. Used as a place to bathe and relax in the old days but the water got too hot after a volcanic eruption. We will stop here and have a look down in the caves.
