But that’s not all – our knowledgeable guides will also point out the constellations to you with a powerful laser, making for an unforgettable stargazing experience. To ensure the best possible viewing experience, we’ve carefully selected the optimal dates on the calendar for observing the bioluminescence. The best time to see it is during the new or waxing moon, and we’ve blocked off dates that aren’t good for viewing to guarantee that you’ll have the best experience possible.

Swimming in bioluminescence is absolutely amazing and if you lift your arm out of the water it looks like glitter rolling down your arm. Amazing eco-system of millions of microorganisms ready to put up a bioluminescent show! The faster you move the brighter you get under the incredible night sky!

I went with my partner. After a confusion regarding our location, they picked us up. They offered us refreshments for the 1 hour ride to Chacagua National Park where the lagoon is. When we got there we used the toilets for a 10 peso fee. We got on the boat and it was pitch black. They took us into the lagoon. After a 15 minute ride, they told us we were there and we could already see the bioluminiscence. I put my hand in and moved it around and saw it. It was beautiful! It looked like I was in a Disney animated movie! The others hopped in the water but I decided to stay in the boat and played around on the water with my hands. It was magical! I recommend to go on a night where there is little to no moon so you can see it better. After the lagoon took us back home. I would recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful tour with Eco Adventures. They picked us up from our hotel and we shuttled out to a lagoon (about a 20 minute drive) and took a boat out on the lagoon in the dark to see the bioluminescence. We were able to swim in the warm water and see the pure blue magic sparkling all around us -- it was incredible. Highly recommend this tour, and going in the dark of the moon (new moon) time frame.

100% we’ll worth the trip. It was so convenient and beautiful. The guides spoke both Spanish and English, and were incredibly nice. This tour is literally 30min outside if the city, you get picked up, and get the option of drinks en route to the springs. Once there, the water is so warm due to the ocean already being warm + there being hot springs in the area. And finally, the bioluminescence was amazing. They even have floating blackout tents in case the moon is too bright to see all the action. We went during a crescent moon and didn’t have any issues seeing all the action
