Get ready to enjoy the best panoramic views of the city, the Oslo fjord, and the surrounding areas from the top of the Vettakollen mountain. This hike promises unforgettable memories! This tour takes about 3.5 hours including public transportation. The walking distance is 5,4 kilometres. Reasonable standard of fitness required. Hiking shoes or similar needed.

    Our adventure begins just outside the Oslo Visitor Centre at the lively Jernbanetorget. From here, we’ll hop on the Frognerseteren metro line and enjoy a scenic ride that takes us through a breathtaking landscape. As we leave the city behind, the panoramic views will unfold before you, setting the stage for a day of exploration. As you reach the Frognerseteren station, you will be greeted by breathtaking panoramic views. We will take a leisurely hike through the glorious green forest and along mysterious small lakes that are said to be inhabited by the mystical creature Huldra. After we wander to DNT Fuglemyrhytta - a small cabin that offers a cozy spot to relax and take in the views. From there our adventure will continue through the forest to the most spectacular spot of our journey – the summit of Vettakollen mountain offering overwhelming views of the city and the Oslofjord. Take in the crisp fresh air and capture this moment with photographs.

    Vettakollen peak provides the best view to the city. From here, you can feast your eyes on large parts of Oslo, the Oslo fjord, and its serene coastline, dotted with numerous small islands. After enjoying the view, we will stroll down to the metro station and finish our trip at Jernbanetorget. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a nature enthusiast looking to experience Oslo's beauty, the Vettakollen hike is a must-do experience. Join us on this journey to the top of Oslo, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We apologize for that, but we are setting up a lovely alternative - The Magical Norwegian Woods tour - which is actually a favorite trip of locals here inOslo!

Another great trip

Throughly recommended great to see Miles again. The view is fantastic and the walk to it was great. Miles is very knowledgeable and a great person to spend the time with.

Great experience

Initially I signed up for snowshoeing, however due to insufficient snow, I have decided to go for the alternative option which is the View of Oslofjord. I'm glad I chose it because the hike was awesome! Miles and Antonie were the guides for this tour. They are very knowledgeable and helpful (especially during the putting on of spikes on our shoes). The hike took us through the forest with breathtaking natural views and we were rewarded with the best view at the top overseeing the whole of Oslo. I strongly recommend people to join this tour!!

Great hike even on a cloudy day

The hike was beautiful. We went on a winter day where the snow had just fallen. It was foggy so the view was obstructed but the hike was still incredible. Josh was a great guide. He provided an amazing experience and gave information about the local plants, animals and area!

Great way to see more of Oslo - make sure to wear good shoes and ones that can get dirty/withstand water especially if there was rain recently.
