Come and enjoy one of the most relaxing experiences in the Baja desert, admire Sierra la Gigantamountain range and the Sea of Cortez in the distance. During the tour, our expert guide will show you our local and endemic flora and fauna, have a talk about the history of people who lived in this region before the arrival of the missionaries and how the life of the descendants was developed. The walk starts with a short introduction of the tour and 10 minutes horse management. After leaving the meeting point, we head off to the desert, taking one of the oldest roads crossing several canyons, enjoying breathtaking views of Sierra la Giganta and Sea of Cortez. Our journey lasts approximately 2 and half hours making a stop to have a cold drink or enjoy an energy bar. This was such a memorable experience must try. The guide was so nice and knowledgeable gave us facts about the surrounding area, we laughed a lot. The ride up the coast was absolutely beautiful.

A must-do experience in Loreto!

Juan and Joselito started by picking us up directly from our resort. They pointed out dolphins as we went by and described other scenery. When we arrived at Juan’s family ranch, the kids got to explore and see queso fresco cheese making and the family’s outdoor kitchen and meet the baby goats and pigs recently born while the ranchers got the horses ready. The horses were gentle and well cared-for. We rode up the arroyo through beautiful countryside for about 40 minutes and then turned around, with Joselito following aways behind in the van in case we needed something from our bags or a rest (couldn’t see or hear him but knew he was there). When we returned, we were offered water or gatorade and the kids got to visit the animals again. We then had another scenic ride back to the resort. It was one of the best parts of our trip so far! Highly recommend. There were three of us—myself and my two sons, ages 10 and 12. My younger son rides every week but my older son has almost no experience and both were thrilled with the experience.

Lovely Beach Ride

We really enjoyed our riding experience with Mario! He gave us a ton of great information about Loreto and it’s history, as well as provided a safe ride on horses/miles down to the beach of Danzante Bay and back around to the ranch. During our ride we spotted turtle nests, a baby marlin, a skipping rooster fish, and more. Very relaxing and romantic.

This was an incredible way to see the desert. We are so happy we did this. It really was such a special experience. We had minimal horseback riding experience and Mario made us feel very comfortable.
