Overview

There's nothing better than getting to know a city from a local, and that's exactly what you can expect on this 2.5-hour tour (with stops). Your Austinite guide will share stories about the fun-loving Texas capital aboard a 14-passenger convertible Mercedes-Benz sprinter van. This unique vehicle, which is open air, is also equipped with sanitized headsets that you can use to get to know Austin through conversations, with English and Spanish language options. Route subject to change due to closures. See all the local hangouts, hip and historic neighborhoods, and beautiful Central Texas Hill Country. Along the way, you'll get out to stretch for pictures and scenery on 3-4 stops that could include the the Driskill Hotel, Barton Springs, and the award-winning Austin Public Library (Routes & stops subject to change due to events or closures.) We can be found inside the Austin Visitors Center at 602 E 4th Street. Parking is available in the garage at 601 E 5th Street. Street parking is also available for $2/hr and can be paid using the Park ATX app.

Amazing tour , excellent intro to Austin and surrounding area

My wife and I booked the 10:15am trip - and it seems all other tourists figured it might be better to go in the afternoon when it was supposed to be warmer. So the two of us were the only ones waiting to go. Where other tour companies would quickly have cancelled the trip, AO-tours did not hesitate a moment to give us a private tour. Driver/guide Jaye took us safely to all the interesting places in and around Austin. He added a ton of information (great food places!) to the already well-prepared tour-guide audio playing in the comfy bus. At various stops we could get out and explore on our own, have a coffee-and-cake in Mozart's café at lake Austin, and have a look down Mount Bonnell, among other places. The tour is an excellent intro into the area - we'll definitely go and explore some on our own soon. Thanks AO-tours, thank you Jaye!

Doug was a great tour guide. The bus was comfortable and he was a safe and experienced driver. He had all of the information we could have wanted and was very personable. Highly recommend this tour.

Fun half day tour of ATX

Michael was the best tour guide. I recently visited ATX as a solo college student and this was a great way to see some cool places and sights. I enjoyed the Austin Public Library. The architecture was unique. We went by Zilker Park, Mount Bonnell, Mozart’s, Capitol Building, Governor’s Mansion, Lady Bird Lake, Congress Ave bridge, and so much more. I was lucky it was a small group so it allowed for fun commentary. This tour would appeal to all ages and stages in life and is very fun. I strongly recommend it.
