Itinerary

  • Arches National Park

Arches National Park spans 76,000 acres, showcasing over 2,000 natural stone arches, including the longest one in the U.S., Landscape Arch. With 1.7 million annual visitors, it's a must-see destination. Explore it with a self-guided driving audio tour for an immersive experience. Note: This 39+ mile-long tour covers the essentials of Arches National Park in 3-5 hours.

    2 hours

  • Arches Visitor Center

Our adventure into the astounding Arches begins just before the park's entrance and visitor center. We're about to see stunning natural monuments, unlikely rock formations, and alien, ancient landscapes.

    5 minutes

  • N/A

As soon as we begin our scenic drive through Arches, we'll see our first formation: the Three Penguins. The ancient Ute and Paiute peoples who once called these lands home didn't see penguins though- they saw ancient spirits watching over the land. As we drive, we leave about the formations and their significance to the tribes.

    5 minutes

Moabā€™s Fault is a six million-year-old crack in the earthā€™s crust. As we continue driving, we'll see this fault and learn about the geologic pressures that have formed the landscape of Arches.

The La Sal Mountains are the second-highest mountain range in Utah. Their highest peak, which you can see toward the center of the range, is almost 13,000 feet tall. We'll pause our drive through Arches to admire the mountains and learn about the Spanish settlers who pushed out the Ute and Paiute tribes.

    5 minutes

  • Balanced Rock Trail

Balance Rock is one of the parkā€™s most iconic attractions, and for good reason. It looks like a huge boulder balanced precariously on a thin spindle.... and held together by concrete? Nope - it's all natural, and it's all one single rock.

We'll pass Panorama Point ā€” keep this in mind if you plan to return at dark for stargazing. Since thereā€™s very little light pollution obscuring the night sky here, youā€™ll see an astonishing number of stars once the sun sets. Depending on the time of year, you may even get to see the entire Milky Way! As we continue our drive, we'll learn about how to stargaze like the Paiute.

  • Wolfe Ranch

The Wolfe Ranch, also known as Turnbow Cabin, is located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, United States. John Wesley Wolfe settled in the location in 1898 with his oldest son Fred. A nagging leg injury from the Civil War prompted Wolf to move west from Ohio, looking for a drier climate.

    5 minutes

  • Salt Valley Road

This is one of the parkā€™s quieter attractions. Like Cache Valley, Salt Valley was formed by the collapse of many sandstone domes. The broken pieces of rock littering the ground are leftovers from that collapse.

Iā€™ve never done a...

Published on Jan, 2025

Iā€™ve never done a self-guided audio tour so my expectations were somewhat low for this experience. Very quickly I realized how great the guided experience was. The hands free approach of the app makes it very easy to listen to the tour and get directions through the park without many distractions. I spent very little time fidgeting with my phone trying to ensure the right audio clips would play at the right time since the app takes care of the for you. I would definitely suggest having a windshield mount for your phone to allow easily following directions. Since I borrowed a rental car to visit the park, this was one thing I neglected to think about. Regardless, my experience on this self-guided tour went amazing.

Perfect for an Arches day trip!

This was perfect for our family! Thank you for providing us with fun and informative information so we didn't miss a thing in the park! Your voice was easy to listen to and the segments were wonderfully timed!

Great App!

This app worked great! My friend and I were impressed on how accurate the narrator was at each stop. If you went back to a stop to get a better look, the app follows your movements and narrates appropriately. I definitely recommend!

Fits YOUR schedule

Really enjoyed having this on my phone. Felt like having a personal tour guide and was able to go as fast or slow as I wanted. Went at my own pace, not that of the group or tour guide.

Frugal guide in a low key settting

Published on Dec, 2024

It was great having a tour guide through the park because weā€™d never been before. We would have missed many details and it was fun learning about the structures, how they came to be, and what they were named. It was like having a more local passenger in our car who had been there before. The only thing that would have enhanced the experience would have been if the picture on the app would change when the guide talked about multiple structures at one site. We had a hard time once or twice understanding which structure he was referring to when there were multiples at a specific stop. Overall would recommend to someone else who has never been before!
