Overview

This is a true White Water experience!! Splash your way down the Colorado River through the rapids of Westwater Canyon, where in addition to rugged desert scenery, thereā€™s the chance you could spot wildlife from soaring bald eagles to river otters and beavers. Over the course of a day, hold on tight as your guide helps navigate the Class III and Class IV whitewater, where rapids have names like Sock-It-To-Me, Funnel Falls and Skull. This trip provides an adrenaline rush amidst walls of red rock canyons, and is great for the traveler who loves a challenge and a bit of desert adventure.

Itinerary

  • Adrift Adventures

The tour itself begins in Moab where youā€™ll meet your professional guide, and receive an intro safety briefing to be fit with lifejacket and gear. From here, hop in the van to the ride to the put-in on a scenic section of the river, where your guide will offer additional instruction about riding inside of the raft. Ā Once youā€™re ready, push off from the sandy bank and prepare to splash through the canyon.

    15 minutes

  • N/A

On this adventurous whitewater rafting trip, thereā€™s the chance you could see petroglyphs carved in the rocks from the areaā€™s original inhabitants, or old mining cabins, graves, and caves that date to the old Wild West. As you pass an old-growth Cottonwood tree, look up towards the sky to look for bald eagles and they soar and coast on the breeze, and keep an eye out for otters and beavers as they splash and swim in the eddies. Youā€™ll splash through 12 different Class III and IV rapids. Your guide will be rowing the raft with oars, so you can just hang on for the ride, absorbing the desert scenery as you splash your way down the canyon. In the middle of the day, your guide will paddle to a sandy riverbank in a calmer section of water, where youā€™ll enjoy a filling buffet lunch and can take a refreshing dip. From here, continue splashing your way downstream and listening to your echoes in the canyon, before leaving the Colorado River behind for the comfortable drive back to Moab.

Claire was an amazing guide, very experienced, funny, and fun conversations! She knew every question we asked and was helpful to point things out on the trip and told us fun facts!

An awesome experience with Adrift Adventures and their amazing guides!

My husband and I went on the whitewater tour with Continued Mission July 1-2. It was super fun, and the guides, Q, Wes, Shay, and Turner, were amazing and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, well-fed, and having an amazing time. Our boat's guide, Q, was knowledgeable and personable. He kept us safe and was an amazing guide! Thanks, Q!

In May I was on a guys trip, and we made the best decision of our trip to drive the four hours to Moab and do the tour.

In May I was on a guys trip, and we made the best decision of our trip to drive the four hours to Moab and do a full day of white water rafting with Adrift Adventures and the greatest guide in the game Claire. Claire handled leading a raft of seven guys as well as anyone could and was both a fun and informative guide along the way, who definitely elevated the overall experience. I speak for our entire group when I say it was the highlight of our trip and one of the best days we had in a while. Would recommend Adrift Adventures (and Claire) to anyone who finds themselves in Utah.

Andy P said it best. Our humble and wise captain Claire exceeded all expectations as we battled the mighty Colorado River. Aye aye captain.
