Overview

Join an intimate wine tour of two local vineyards/farms and their cellars, guided by a wine expert and learn about all the process of winemaking, from the vineyard to the bootle. Enjoy tasting three types of wine at each vineyard, while you learn more about wine flavours and how to better degustate. Then ascend to the highest peak in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Feast on a lunch or dinnner with view to the coastline sunset in a mountain top restaurant with some of the best Portuguese cuisine specialties and a panoramic view over Algarve.

    Located on the north border area of PortimĂŁo and Alvor. With the big mountain of Monchique, that dominates the view when we are at the vineyards, this large property has also growing areas of cork trees, wheat fields and orange trees. In the family since 1865 and producers of grapes from a long time, this farm built their modern winery in 1999 and were the first producing certified designation of origin wines in the Algarve. In the esplanade, at the shop or at the oak barrels is visible the tradition of this family estate.

  • Quinta Do Frances Winery

    Located north PortimĂŁo, already on Silves county. It's an exclusive wine farm production, the one located most north in the region ,right on the beginning of the Monchique Mountains. Owned by a portuguese-french couple that met at Bordeaux, where he was born and grew up surroundend by the influence of wine. They moved in the region at the beginning of the century to start this project from zero. In the slopes of Odelouca River Vlley, they planted their vineyard and built their small but well equiped winery, that also hosts a tasting room, barrels room and laboratory.

Great wine tour with lunch

We had a great tour. We started at a winery near the coast. We sampled several wines and learned about the history of the area and the process of wine making. There were options for several kinds of wine. We then went to a different winery about 10-15 minutes away in the mountains so the wines were very different and it was fun to contrast and compare the two places. We then drove about 15 minutes to a cliffside restaurant in the mountains. Lunch included appetizers, wine, mains, and dessert, it was a ton of food and very good. Overall we had a great time and would recommend.

Amazing Algarve Wine Tour!

This wine tour was such a fantastic experience! We visited two wineries, walked through the vineyards, learned so much about the region and winemaking, and even got to pick fresh oranges right off the trees. The wine tastings were amazing, and we couldn’t resist buying a few bottles to bring home. Lunch was at a charming local restaurant in the mountains where we tried delicious regional dishes—it felt so authentic and cozy. Afterward, we went to the top of a mountain for the most stunning views of the Algarve. Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole day fun and easy. For the price, it was incredible value. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Algarve!

Faultless wine tour experience!

I couldn’t fault this trip, absolutely recommended. Fábio was an incredible host who made the trip even more special - first the initial email exchanges he put me at ease and was clear in his communication and extremely went out of his way to accommodate our group which slightly larger than normal. His knowledge of wine and the local region was outstanding and he was great company! The trip was excellent value for money and the group has been left with wonderful memories of a fantastic day. Thank you very much Fábio, I hope we will be able to return in the very near future

A fabulous tour. Fabio was very knowledgeable about the wineries, the wines of the Algarve, and the local food. The scenery at the wineries was lovely and the view from the restaurant at Monchique was breathtaking.

Just an awesome time with Fabio- so knowledgeable & the wineries were distinct from the Douro. We liked it so much that we are having a case of wine shipped to the States. And the dinner in the mountains was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.
