Absolutely fantastic. We really couldn't have enjoyed it more.
Tim, our brilliant guide, was constantly entertaining. His local knowledge of everything — history, geology, mythology, food, architecture, farming, politics, culture (including Wordsworth, Coleridge, Robert Southey, All Creatures Great And Small, Donald Campbell and Bluebird, Hardwicke Rawnsley, The Manchester Corporation and, of course, Beatrix Potter, who is *so much more* than we thought she was) — plus sheep (there's a lot to learn) — was AMAZING. There wasn't a single question he couldn't answer.
We saw the eight lakes, plus towns, villages, viewpoints, waterfalls, corpse roads, Wordsworth’s grave, Castlerigg Stone Circle, the smallest house in the Lake District and the best smelling shop IN THE WORLD.
10/10. Would recommend to everyone, all day long. Wonderful.
