Overview
A morning paddle on Yellowstone Lake is a great way to start the day before moving on to afternoon activities.
We begin the tour at 8AM to beat the wind and waves that can form later in the day. Morning is the best time of the day to spot wildlife.
Your kayak instructor will provide a safety briefing and introduce your group to the kayaks and paddle strokes. The tours have a ratio of 6-guests-to-1-guide. The minimum age to join this tour is 14.
Once underway, we journey from the Grant Village Marina to the West Thumb Geyser Basin, weather permitting. The sight of the steaming geyser basin forms a lifelong memory. Enjoy the big mountain views of the Absaroka Range across the lake. Getting out on the water is a unique way to experience the Park.
Our tours are fun! But we also have a passion for the Park and enjoy sharing information about the flora, fauna, and history of the region.

We had an amazing morning on Lake Yellowstone from sunrise to wildlife, to geysers. Emily Jo and Josh were great guides, knowledgeable on the sights, super accommodating and fun! Highly recommend.
Beautiful trip on a very cold day

It was a VERY cold and icy morning, but Nak and Josh were ready for us. They were very friendly and very professional, and very knowledgeable. It was great kayaking on the calm lake, and listening to Nak and Josh tell us about the history and pointing out the wildlife. It was an overall great experience.

My favorite part of the trip was looking into the clear water and seeing the bottom of the lake. After asking how deep it was at its deepest point, I learned that the lake was actually a caldera itself. Little bits of knowledge like this is what makes the experience for me. Not to mention the views.

It was a nice day on the lake. Eagles flew by and a small pack of Elk roam the Yellowstone lake. The guides were very attentive and informative. We actually saw a geyser that the guide hasn’t seen erupt which seem to get him all excited. E had a great time

We had a really fun four hour trip despite bad weather. Our guides were Josh, Emily Jo and Michael. They definitely know how to take care of their customers and did a great job of entertaining and educating us. We saw some really cool birds, including a bald eagle. Highly recommend them and this company! I’d give them six stars if I could!
