Overview

This private guided hike and picnic is great for Senior Adults and Families with Children. We will learn about the formation of the canyon, the flora and fauna, and the rich human history of the area. We will also learn of the importance of National Parks, and how to preserve and protect them. Because we believe the parks are a place for families to create lasting memories, up to 2 children 12 and under hike free when accompanied by paying adults.

Meeting points

We meet all hikers at the Zion Canyon Village, in front of the pedestrian bridge entrance to Zion National Park. Your guide will message you the morning of, with a description of their outfit.

End point

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

Itinerary

The best way to experience Zion National Park! This Zion adventure is private, and as such can be customized to fit your needs. We focus primarily on three trails: West Rim Trail (to Scouts Lookout), Watchman Trail, Emerald Pools Trail. Portions of each of these trails may be combined to create the ultimate Zion experience. When time permits, we love to share some of the other areas of the park including Weeping Rock*, Big Bend, and the Temple of Sinawava. After our day of hiking in the park, we will enjoy a charcuterie board picnic at the Grotto picnic area. Cured Meats, Fruits, Pickled Goods, Cheeses, Spread, Crackers and Nuts. GF/Vegan options available with 48hr advance notice. *As of November 2023, Weeping Rock is closed following a rockfall.

Phenomenal 1/2 day hike!

What a rewarding day! Our guide was patient with my constant need to stop and take a million pictures and to catch my breath when needed. We were given options based on our wants and physical needs. Our guide knew the area and geology well. We took a 6 mile bike and ended with a fantastic meat, cheese and nut lunch. Couldn't have asked for more!

This was our 2nd hike with Michael @ Cedar & Sage, and I was wondering if he could top our previous experience, but he did!! We had an extraordinary experience hiking through Bryce Canyon with him as our guide, and because it had snowed alittle around 5am that morning, Michael expertly assessed the various trail options before we arrived and had navigated a route for us that was fit for our abilities, and was safe considering the early morning snow and potential for ice, and he had the proper equipment ready for us that morning. It was a magical experience, especially because of the early morning snow, and Michael expertly took us through a hybrid of 3 combined trails to give us the safest route and most breathtaking views! Michael is a fantastic guide, top notch, but he he is also an incredible steward of the land and it is evident in conversation with him how knowledgeable he is and how much he truly loves this beautiful place.

Fabulous Day Hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park

There were 4 of us that spent a fantastic, magical day with Michael on a private trekking tour of the Narrows in Zion National Park. Michael is a fantastic guide and having grown up in the area he's super knowledgable of every detail of the park, flora, fauna and interesting tidbits. Michael packed a lovely charcuterie board lunch, had yummy snacks and bottled water and really made the day special by providing all the gear one would need to hike the Narrows. He supplied waders, special boots and sturdy walking sticks. I highly recommend Michael's tour and will tell anyone who wants to experience the Narrows with a professional, personable and wonderful guide to choose Michael with Cedar & Sage!

Wow! Worth every penny! Our guide Micheal was amazing. He reached out the day before to set up a meeting time and place at the park. He arrived right on time, brought some salty/sweet snacks for our hike (we forgot ours) and we talked about which hike we wanted to do. We decided on Scout Lookout via West Rim Trail. Micheal explained all about Zion, the plants, birds, when everything was built (trails etc). We finished up with the Riverwalk trail and a delicious light lunch that Micheal prepared. This was such a great company to book and we would do it again in a heartbeat!
