Overview

The only Via Ferrata experience near Zion and Bryce. A thrilling canyoneering climbing and rappelling adventure in Kanab. Includes a short ATV ride, Via Ferrata climb, and 180 ft Rappel. Located in a private and pristine canyon, with unrivaled views and nature sounds.

Meeting points

You will meet your guide at the NORTH END OF THE PARKING LOT of Moqui Cave. From there, we will caravan into the adjacent canyon, Cave Lakes Canyon where you will be shuttled to the Via Ferrata start.

End point

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

Itinerary

Upon arrival, we'll load up into an ATV and go on a quick yet memorable zip up our historic Cave Lakes Canyon to the Via Ferrata starting point. Along the way you'll see naturally formed lakes in Caves and markings from early settlers. Once we get to the Via Ferrata, you'll be outfitted with gear and receive thorough instruction. Once everyone is ready, now the fun begins! Via Ferrata which means "Iron Path" is quite simply put, a thrilling metal course scaling straight up a sheer canyon wall. With safety as our first priority, you are securely harnessed and locked in as you ascend this guided climb. Once you've summited, wiped your brow, and soaked in the epic views, you will then drink a cold water on us before descending on an easy rappel back to home base. At the end of this thrilling, heart racing Up and Down Via Ferrata / Rappel Experience you will not only feel like you've achieved greatness, but you'll most likely be described as Legendary. *bragging rights included. Located near Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument and Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park. ​

No experience necessary is a real thing

This might be an important review because I have zero climbing OR rappelling experience. I just like to do hard things, be a little terrified and live to tell the story. Tyler was my guide. He build the Via Ferrata in East Zion and I knew I was in good hands. Roam also let me book a single because my husband is afraid of heights. I'm sure it was because it's a slower time of year but maybe not. Roam was all around awesome for the entire week, so maybe they are just cool like that. I did the 700 ft pitch and the longer rappel down. It was amazing. Highly recommend.

Beautiful sights and exhilarating adventures

We went for my husbands birthday and had Zage as our guide who was awesome. He gave very clear instructions, made safety his top priority and was fun to spend the day with. (He also took really good photos of us). This is a great way to learn about the land and enjoy it while experiencing something new.

I visited ROAM on September 18th, 2024 with my brother and sister-in-law. We did the "Tallest in Utah" Via Ferrata & Rappelling along with a fourth person that was grouped with us. It was absolutely phenomenal!!! I am into this kind of thing so the climbing, harness wear, carabiner usage and rappelling is stuff I have done before. My brother and his wife were brand new to it but that didn't slow them down one bit. Our guide, Ken, provided a few key instructions and then we set off on the 1,000-foot climb, which was done across various sections of the mountain face. After a bit of a hike, we then repelled down 4 sections, totalling about 500 feet (the rest we hiked down between the rapelling sections). The whole thing took us 3 hours and it was a blast! Glad we did the 10 am morning session because in the afternoon, the sun just bakes the side of the mountain during the summer. All in all, would highly recommend this, even if you have zero experience. I plan to come back and do some of their canyoneering trips.
