Wow… the experience was excellent.
Although this was my first time working with wood, my husband who also attended the workshop has much more experience and Timbe (the teacher) is a very well traveled and experienced teacher who held space perfectly for the different levels of experience between us and the other two people in the workshop.
He is very knowledgeable about the wood, sustainability and woodworking in general.
I was further impressed by his ability to seamlessly switch between all of the participants and sense how much help each of us needed at any point. Timbe has a great knack for ‘seeing’ the potential of each bit of wood, much like Leonardo Da Vinci would find the figure within the marble, Timbe, extracts the artefact from the wood, and guides you to do the same.
It’s exciting to be able to choose what you would like to create within the allotted time.
And… although woodworking can be dangerous, we were guided through safety measures at each stage.
Plus.. high quality photos are taken throughout the process (with your permission) and shared with you after the event.
It’s very satisfying to create something with your own hands, it gives you a profound understanding of what goes into each hand made item and it’s a real bonus to have your very own souvenir to keep at the end.
Silvana and Timbe look after you throughout the 3hr workshop process. They genuinely enjoy interacting with different students from around the world.
A superb experience that I am happy to recommend.
