Overview

Sheltered in Mykonos Town! Have a walking tour with a local in Mykonos Town. We will meet at a central location, walk around the houses of Little Venice, feel the vibe of the Cyclades, the Myconian wind and the sun, explore alleys and admire the architecture. - A great choice for your first or second day in Mykonos.

Itinerary

  • Manto Mavrogenous Square

    This is our meeting point and first stop! Looking out over the Old Port and marking the entrance to historic Mykonos Town is Manto Mavrogenous Square the lively epicentre of the quintessential Greek Island destination.

  • Matoyianni Street

    Stroll your way down Matoyianni street, with the cute but posh shops, restaurants and the lovely stone covered pedestrian alleys and get the vibe of the island's town! A must visit area, perfect street for taking pictures, with beautifully decorated corners, blossomed bougainvillaeas in the streets, and even artistic decorations in front of the local stores.

  • Church of Paraportiani

    The church of Paraportiani dates back to the 15th century making it Mykonos' oldest church. It must have occupied hallowed ground because, as its name ("church by the gate") with its unique shape and location, the Church of Panagia Paraportiani still carries the history of Mykonos in and around it.

  • The Windmills (Kato Milli)

    The windmills are the quintessential features of Mykonos landscape. There are plenty of them that have become a part and parcel of Mykonos. The Windmills the most famous landmark of Mykonos with lots of people visit them from all over the world every year.

    Wandering around the pretty streets, admire the old house hanging above the water and take photos of this scenic place.

Nice weather in Mykonos

Nice easy and relax walk around the island. We had a chance to visit the school, an old bakery, the windmills and Little Venice. We had an excellent guide! Very warm and friendly.

Very relaxed and enjoyable experience

Our tour guides were a married couple, her name was Georgia. They were very relaxed and enjoyable to be with and had many interesting facts to share with us about their home of Mykonos. We were able to ask questions about what we are interested in and they were happy to answer.

A Mykonos must-do!

An early Sunday morning walk around the beautiful streets and sights of Mykonos city, led by expert tour guide Stelios. Among the many highlights was our stop at a 600 year old bakery / cafe. Stelios’ knowledge, coupled with his pride in Mykonos and his engagement with everyone on the tour, meant this was an unforgettable experience. Lots learned, and even more enjoyed. Even in the hot sun, this tour was a delight from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Thank you, Stelios, for a fantastic tour!

Friendly tour guides

We enjoyed our tour and vegetarian breakfast. We managed to see a decent amount of Mykonos Town before meeting our guides which I guess can't be helped (unless the start of the tour is rearranged to be at the bus station, but then again it depends which way the tour group will be coming from!). So that was my only critique. Everything else was great, the information shared, the recommendations for local vendors and the enthusiasm for Mykonos.

Amazing Morning Walk in Town

We had a nice time at Mykonos town. We met our local guide at 10 am on a central location in town and we walked through the small alleys, we saw the windmills, the Little Venice and more. Our guide was very helpful, he saw us some traditional taverns that only locals knows and we visit a traditional wood oven bakery with amazing artisanal bread. At the end of the tour we enjoyed our breakfast goody bag full of Greek ingredients. Such as Mykonian tomato cherries, feta cheese and "pasteli" a Greek style sesame bar and more. I will definitely recommend it if you want to taste some Greek delicacies and same time to have an hour walking tour in the town.
