  • You must be able to climb and descend stairs and walk on unpaved or uneven terrain.

Glowworm caves and native culture

The glowworm cave was a great adventure and the whole trip was enhanced by having a knowledgeable Māori tour guide, Ama. She shared knowledge about the tribes and their culture. I really enjoyed this added part of the trip! We also stared the trip with sweet little gift bags full of treats for our outing. I would definitely take another tour with this team!

Our driver picked us up from our hotel exactly on time. Pre-trip communications was excellent. He provided a snack bag including a water bottle which I appreciated. Throughout the drive he gave us a running narrative about the country and the sights we were seeing. I was grateful that he scheduled bathroom breaks and food stops as we had a long drive. When we arrived at the caves we had a Maori guide who explained the history and led us through the caves. He was very knowledgeable. Overall it was an interesting and enjoyable experience.

The moment we sat in this bus, a goody bag was given by Driver / Guide name AMA. (In India ama means mother's care and her attitude of lovely feelings reflected that). So it started with positive vibration and this continues till end. The caves itself were marvellous and we'll know.
