30 minutes
Parliament of Finland
From Temppelikatu we head to Eduskuntatalo, the Finnish Parliament house where we start the photoshoot. Eduskuntatalo is the seat of the Parliament in Finland and it has been a landmark of the city and a great example of nordic classicism since its inauguration in 1931.
10 minutes
N/A
Villa Hakasalmi (formerly Villa Karamzin) is a 19th century villa in Helsinki city center and a reminder of how small the city was when first built in its current location. We will take photos in the lovely garden of the villa.
10 minutes
Toolo Bay (Toolonlahti)
Töölönlahti or Töölö Bay is a small bay in the heart of Helsinki. It is surrounded by old parks, 19th century villas and some of the city's landmarks like the Opera House and Finlandia Hall.
15 minutes
Helsinki Central Railway Station
Next stop is the main transportation hub of the city, Helsinki Railway Station. The Railway Station square has been a cultural hub of Helsinki for over a century with the National Theater and Ateneum art museum bordering it on opposite sides.
The Railway Station was designed by Eliel Saarinen and completed in 1919.
10 minutes
Stockmann Department Store (Pass By)
From the Railway Station area we head through the shopping streets and Esplanadi Park to the Market Square and the Senate Square - the old heart of Helsinki.
Stockmann is the oldest and most traditional department store in Finland. This landmark of the shopping district was built in 1930 in Nordic Art Deco style.
Esplanadi Park (Pass By)
We pass by Esplanadi Park, which is one of the oldest parks in Helsinki.
Kauppatori (Pass By)
Kauppatori, or the Market Square, is located right at the shore of the Baltic Sea. The old harbour used to be located right next to the Market Square and together they formed the commercial heart of the city. Markets are still held here daily.
Helsinki Cathedral
Helsinki Cathedral stands on top of a hill at the Senate Square. This square was designed as the heart of the city when Helsinki was rebuilt in the 19th century. This complex was designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, the architect responsible for many of the landmarks of Finland.
Helsinki Cathedral was finished in 1852.
15 minutes
Uspenskin Katedraali
The final stop of the tour is at Uspenski Cathedral. This Orthodox Christian Cathedral is the largest in the Nordics. It stands over a hill in Katajanokka, nearby the Senate Square. From here we have a great view of the surrounding areas for some panoramic landscape shots.
