One of Baliās iconic temples that sits on the lake of Beratan, the Ulun Danu Beratan temple is located on the highlands of the famous Bedugul regency in north Bali. Because of the templeās location on top of a lake, the temple itself is actually used for offering ceremonies for the goddess of water, lakes and rivers, known as Dewi Danu. Therefore, Lake Beratan is one of the important lakes in Bali in terms of irrigation, especially in the rice fields and plantations. Things to do here are a paddle boat ride, a guided tour on a canoe, and sightseeing the mountain view.

Whatās unique about this temple is thereās a curved cliff shape like a bridge that connects the temple with the mainland. Underneath, there is a small cave where several sea snakes are placed. Thus, these are holy snakes assigned as the guardian of the temple. Things to do includes a spiritual journey, enjoying the beach and sunset view.

This was such an amazing experience. We had a group of 11 people and our guides kept us together, well educated, and on time without feeling rushed throughout the entire day. You can pack so much into this day seeing many sites that if you did on your own, you might hit 2 and be done as the traffic is such an issue, but not with our guides, they knew of some back roads that made it even more fun as we saw small towns with even narrower streets than what you typically see in Bali! I just canāt say enough good things about our guide, Eko. We feel like we got to know him as part of our family. He is such a happy person, it just comes out everywhere in his smile and laughter. He is kind and humble and taught us so much about the Hindu faith and community. We have been truly blessed to have crossed paths with this amazing human being and for him to share his island with us, we are forever grateful. Iām not sure if you can request him as your guide, if you can, ask for Eko.
Great Temple Tour

Our guide, Bawa, did a great job escorting us to a number of major temples in Bali. He was very gracious with his time and did a good job of explaining the sights we were seeing. Beratan Temple was a highlight and should be a must on any visit to Bali. Bawa, thank you so much for your time.

We had an amazing day with our guide Parila. He explained us everything in English and all was really clear. He knows so many things about Bali and he loved sharing with us. Really good driver too. He took a lot of pictures of us, we appreciated. Do not hesitate and ask for Parila
