We first toured with Sam in 2019 when we visited Yala, this time we chose to visit the Elephant Orphanage and Udawalawe National Park. Sam speaks clear English therefore we were immediately impressed with the communication prior to and during our visits over WhatsApp and messenger. On arrival Sam’s vehicles have always been in excellent condition and reliable. We have always felt safe and comfortable in Sam’s company and he has always been happy to go the extra mile from regular ‘comfort breaks’ to even helping us find somewhere to repair our sons phone for no additional expense. The day of our tour first we visited the elephant orphanage and saw in close proximity elephant feeding time. Watching the baby elephants scurrying around for their food and blowing their trunks asking for more milk was amusing. We then travelled to Udawalawe National Park where we were greeted by another tour guide in a Land Rover which was specifically requested in advance by my husband and organised by Sam. Sam stayed with us during our trip around the park where it was a magical experience seeing Elephants of all sizes in their natural habitat, there were elephants around every corner who were not phased by the vehicles whilst eating and generally chilling out in the dusk. The park also had crocodiles, land monitors and birds of many different species. All in all it was a magical day that our family will never forget and we cannot thank Sam enough for making all the arrangements for us. We have found Sam to be friendly and approachable and his tours to be reasonably priced and would not hesitate to recommend him or use him again on future visits to Sri Lanka
