Sline was a great tour guide for the day. He was always informative and happy to answer questions and very friendly. The hike was to die for! The only strenuous part was the walk back up the road from the trailhead — but Sline made sure we felt comfortable taking it slow so it wasn’t too bad (from our viewpoint as a family who only does light hiking). Other than that, I wouldn’t call the hike strenuous, but be prepared to use rocks to cross the small river. I recommend sturdy sandals (Chacos, Tevas, Keens, etc.) or shoes you’re willing to step in the water with — it makes it more adventurous and a little less stressful when crossing the small river. Sline was very helpful in the whole process. The waterfall at the end was super cool and very worth it! We were able to end the day by going to the viewpoints in the Yanahuara neighborhood and getting some queso helado, the special ice cream in Arequipa. Highly recommend!

This day trip ist perfect to get out of the city for a while. It's just about an hours ride outside of Arequipa. We visited Yura Viejo first which ist very small but in a beautiful sourrounding. Then went on a hike through a small canyon to a waterfall. You have to wade through the water quite a bit which was a lot of fun for our six year old. He did not even ask once 'are we there yet' ;-) The waterfall is beautiful as is the landscape. Our guide was great and our driver very relaxed, too. The termal baths are ok, maybe not a must-do, but our son loved the warm water. Overall a great Tour.

Very good guide service and convinient transportation. We spent an awesome day with Xavier. He was very helpful and kind during the trek.

The walk was pretty easy compared with other hikes we did un Perú which was good because it made a very chillout day inside an amazing canyon. Recommended to anyone who just want to spend time un nature

We really enjoyed this hike and our guide, Pablo, was wonderful and very helpful. We were the only ones on the trail which made this feel like we were being shown and unknown locals-only type trail. We walked in our hiking shoes through the river which was unique and pretty fun (be sure to pack some sandals for after!). Pablo did the hike in Tivas/Chacos with a strap, so you've got some options when it comes to footwear. Also, be such to bring sunscreen and bug spray! The waterfall was beautiful and so was the canyon overall. Pablo was really helpful in took lots of photos of us throughout the hike. He also had bagged snacks for us once we got to the waterfall (fruit, water, candy, and crackers) which was a pleasant surprise. The thermal baths were nice but bring cash because the entrance (5-10 soles depending on the day) is not included. Overall, this was a wonderful little trip that I feel is off the beaten path a little bit...maybe a mostly locals only hidden gem?
