Overview

The day time experience's are held at my beautiful cosy home in Kilcolgan. I also run some of the experiences at my cafe, Kate's Place, in Oranmore, Orantown centre. In my home, guests enjoy the homely feel of my Irish kitchen. In every experience we always discuss the difference between baking bread long ago, compared to nowadays. I also encourage the use of my fruits and herbs from my garden, where if possible, we avail of seasonal delights.

A Truly Authentic and Heartwarming Irish Baking Experience

We thoroughly enjoyed the Traditional Irish baking class with Kate. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us into her home with warmth and hospitality, creating a fun, relaxed, and inviting atmosphere. Kate generously shared her delicious recipes for scones and bread, along with expert tips that made the experience both educational and enjoyable. The highlight was savoring our freshly baked treats in her beautiful garden — a perfect way to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Thank you, Kate, for such a memorable and authentic Irish experience during our vacation!

Scrumptious Scones and Delightful Fun

What a great experience! We felt like we visited the real Ireland - baking with a 30-year restaurateur in her home. We started with scones. I made orange and my wife chose blueberry. Then we made Irish brown bread. Kate has a beautiful, manicured garden and we enjoyed the fruits of our labor with butter, jam, and marmalade along with tea. It was sunny and a great breeze. Kate is delightful.

We had a great time at Kate‘s house learning how to make scones and bread, both spelt as well as brown bread. It was really yummy. Kate and her partner John were very welcoming and it was a lovely experience. We got to enjoy the scones and the bread over the next couple of days and they were truly yummy

Kate was a friendly hostess with loads of baking experience. She made scone making fun and the results were delicious. We also made a loaf of spelt and brown bread to take home and enjoy later. Highly recommend this Irish baking class.
