Overview

Discover the unique, original way of how medicinal ceremonies are presented in the BriBri culture. This will take place in the home or the shaman and here you´ll see how the medicinal plants are used. He will explain where every plant is helpful for and how this is used to heal someone. After the ceremony you´ll see the process of making cacao and enjoy an traditional meal. To end this extraordinary experience you´ll have a hike to the waterfall and have a refreshing swim.

This was a fun day. A few minutes from Puerto Viejo. Some hiking, some swimming, and a ritual spiritual cleansing from a shaman.

We had an incredible experience with the Bribri community. The shaman had such a beautiful energy, and we felt truly honored to learn from him. Our guide was absolutely perfect—she transported us into this rich and fascinating culture with so much passion and knowledge. We also felt very welcomed by the family in the community, sharing delicious, locally made food and meaningful moments together. It was an unforgettable experience, filled with warmth, authenticity, and deep connections. Highly recommended!

Fantastic day

Fantastic experience with an indigenous led tour and women owned business. Our guide was fabulous, and walked us through understanding our visit to the local shaman. The visit was a really special experience and we felt so peaceful after our cleansing ritual. Next we visited a lovely welcoming local family for an educational tour of their home plantation/gardens, made chocolate from cacao, shared a meal together and tried to shoot a bow and arrow (poorly!). We ended up the day with the locals at a refreshing waterfall. We learnt a lot about the BriBri people and culture on a really fun day out. Highly recommend this tour.

Tirza and Michelle provided a great day for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed the process of chocolate making with the indigenous family followed by refreshing waterfall swim. Tirza was super knowledgeable about the area and made it a truly enjoyable experience. Thanks Tirza for the memorable day!
