Join us on a delicious “multi–ethnic” food tasting and cultural/historical journey through the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village (The Central Village – the area surrounding Washington Square Park and New York University). Find out why this area of the Village is so popular for its diverse food scene, rich history, culture, counter culture, distinct architecture, and vibrant Greenwich Village nightlife. We will also visit Washington Square Park and learn about its radical protesters, infamous hanging tree, the Washington Square Arch, and walk the same streets that Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Amy Schumer did while learning about the music and comedy scene, and why this section of NYC can only be described as The Village!

We start at Cuba Restaurant with a sit down restaurant "cuban feast" of two different flavors of their house made empanadas, plantains and rice & beans.

We will visit Washington Square Park (the town square of Greenwich Village) and learn about its radical protesters, infamous hanging tree, the Washington Square Arch, and how the “live and let live” beatniks, writers and poets of the 50s and 60s made Greenwich Village their home.

Great food tour of Greenwich Village on a nippy day in NY. Our tastings included tasty foods from Cuba, Artichoke Pizza and Monte's. Ryan was so knowledgeable about the food and the history of Greenwich. No one left hungry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village Food tour! Chip was an excellent guide and the food choices were all fun and delicious! Interspaced with all of the eating was history of the area from hundreds of years back to more recent times. Greatly recommend this tour!

We loved every minute of this tour. Chip was our tour guide for the NYC Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour. He did a fantastic job of introducing us to some amazing food options and shared his knowledge of the culture and history of this portion of Manhattan. We occupied our time with a number of great people from around the U.S. Our next visit to NYC will most definitely included another Food Tour with the wonderful people from Foods of New York Tours!

Ive been on 4 of these food tours and each has been exceptional. The food is the best I find in NYC and the tour guides are knowledgeable and entertaining. Don’t go anywhere else-the other tour we took was so blah compared to Food Tours of NY!

When I tell you Ryan is absolutely amazing, believe it! He was funny, knowledgeable, and highly entertaining! The historical facts that he sprinkled in, coupled with his personal anecdotes made the entire experience a great one. The food was great, service was stellar, and I'd recommend this tour unabashedly! Excellent experience!
