Tastin’ Round Town provides a local, sustainable experience tasting a variety of foods, allowing you to feel like a native Memphian. Each tour is designed to include delicious food tastings from specialty eateries as well as an off-the-beaten-path glimpse of the history, culture, architecture, and entertainment offerings of the Mississippi Delta.

Taylor did a superb job of telling the history of Memphis and its unique food. The food was wonderful!! And plentiful! Enough for two meals.

Taste of Downtown Memphis was fantastic!!! Our guide was Harper and he was a last minute sub for the original guide who fell ill. He was there quickly with a smile on his face and a good story to tell. He is a certified Pit Master and is extremely knowledgeable on local foods, emerging cuisines, and the greater Memphis region. He took us to several famous, local eateries from more high end eateries to the old established best burger and rib joints. It was so much fun! Great food and drink, great conversation with tips on everything from local history, nearby travel, the art scene and exhibits. It is a very enjoyable way to to spend a late afternoon and tap the local heartbeat of this vibrant city. One tip...come very hungry. They feed you plenty. My cousin snacked just before, because he couldn't wait a little longer, and was not able to sample everything. Wait out the hunger and enjoy the tour all the more. Five stars! What a fun tour! Taylor was an amazing guide. She provided us with a lot of history and fun facts about Memphis. We had 5 food stops on the tour. Alcoholic drinks were on your own, but food, water, and sometimes soda was included. We started at Dyer's burgers sharing a double cheeseburger and learned their history. On to Rum Boogie Cafe for gumbo and a look at the fantastic signed guitars in there. Next was King's Palace Cafe for BBQ'd wings and more Memphis history. On to Blues City Cafe for delicious BBQ ribs with beans and slaw. Last stop was Beale Sweets for tasty fudge samples and a piece for everyone to take home. We were so glad we signed up for this tour to give us an excellent taste of Beale Street.
