Overview

Take part in the sunset trek on the Sciara del Fuoco. Discover this little island of fire in the vast blue sea, and enjoy a fantastic view of the beautiful surrounding landscape. Meet your guide and depart from Piazza San Vincenzo 2 hours before sunset. After a safety briefing, begin your hike from a nature trail that takes you to 400 meters, the maximum altitude allowed with a Volcanology guide. Enjoy the spectacular view of the summit craters and the Sciara del Fuoco. During the trek, take breaks to admire the views and also visit the island's old cemetery. Cross the Mediterranean scrub, accompanied by the constant view of Strombolicchio. Upon the panoramic arrival on the Sciara del Fuoco, admire the sunset that colors the Aeolian archipelago red and observe the volcanic eruptions that illuminate the night sky. Return downhill in the dark, equipped with torches, to the starting point.

Amazing experience

There was a great view over the island and the neighbouring strombolicchio. The guide was very sympathetic and what he told us rather interesting. The highlight was seeing the eruptions of the stromboli in the nightsky.

Something you have to do...

We had the pleasure of walking up Stromboli with Simone. It was an often steep climb on dirt tracks and it was managed well for the whole group with stops for water and information. The volcano does not disappoint with explosions every few minutes. There were a lot of people at the top for sunset but there is space for all. The trip down is quicker with head torches with easier but steep paths.

Well worth hike to a spectacular vulcano show!

Our main goal of going to Stromboli was this tour, and it was well worth it! We had a mixed group of about 30 people speaking Italian, French and English and our tour guide Simone did his very best to make it enjoyable for every language. It was a beautiful hike up to the view point, where we had an hour to watch the vulcano. A few minutes into our descent, the vulcano gave another show and the tour guide stopped and waited very patiently to give us an even more impressive view of the active vulcano! Wonderful hike, really worth it!!

Great tour with Josephe Vardi, An experienced, knowlegable an very responsible guide. The climb up and down the Stombolli was somewhat challenging, particullarly for my 62 year old wife, but Josephe helped her personally, and she made it. They provide helmets and torches, but insist on 1.5 liter of water each, and shoes with good soles. The latter can be bought / rented close by. Overall an amazing 5 hour experience.

Lovely way to enjoy and experience this extraordinary place, thanks!

Great guide, so welcoming, well organised, informative, caring towards the young hikers. Seeing Stromboli in action as the sun goes down made for a really chilled experience.
