Overview

Are you exploring the south Dalmatian coast? This tour is perfect for those who travel the "D8" road between Split and Dubrovnik. The Bacina Lakes are only (100km) 2hours drive from Split and Dubrovnik. Lakes are situated next to the D8 road, only 300 meters from the Adriatic sea. Paddle surfing tours are a great opportunity to see local culture and the rich diversity of flora and fauna around seven Bacina Lakes and the delta of the Neretva river. Canals, swamps, birds, fisherman’s villages and things you will never see if you travel by the roads through Dubrovnik-Neretva County in Croatia. With your professional tour guide/instructor you will learn to Stand Up Paddle in just a few minutes course and you will be ready for one of the best SUP adventures in Croatia.

Itinerary

PROGRAM: 10:00 – Course and group meeting 10:15 – Practice on the “Sladinac” Lake and starting the tour 11:00 – Paddling to reach the biggest lake 11:15 – Paddling around the Island of Love 11:30 – Stop at natural water spring 11:45 – Passing under the “Ždrioc” old bridge to reach the “Crniševo” Lake 12:00 – Swimming time and fruit picnic 12:30 – Paddling back to the starting point 13:00 – Finish at the beach bar

Fantastic introduction to SUP - Thanks Ivan :)

What a fantastic day out - we really enjoyed our day and Ivan made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. Everything was explained in easy terms while we were on land and it was not long before we were paddling around the lake taking in the phenomenal views. Crystal clear water, great weather, light winds...everything we needed to get started...and also some fruit at our stop. We were so lucky that, in this case, we were the only two on the course, so we had Ivan all to ourselves and had an exceptional day. We would thoroughly recommend the course - it was worth every penny. It was not too tiring either so the three hours was just right for learning the skills needed to paddle board confidently.

Brilliant experience

We just spent an amazing 3 plus hours with Ivan, excellent tutor and brilliant guide with a very good sense of humour. The lakes and the local wildlife are amazing to experience, with Cormorants and Eagles that roost on the lakes. All round superb experience, with a hammock and refreshments half way around to build up energy again - but the experience can be as chilled or as energy sapping as you want it to be. Hvala Ivan.

Excellent tour and experience

Ivan was an excellent tutor and fun guide. The experience is 100% worth while exploring the lakes and the local wildlife, including Cormorants and Eagles - did you know you can scare seagulls away by flapping your arms like a big eagle? I didn’t either, until today. Hvala Ivan!

Fantastic paddle boarding experience on Baćina Lakes

We were a group of 10 including 6 children between 9 and 12 years of age, all of us first timers and many of us nervous about trying paddle boarding for the first time! Ivan was a fantastic coach! He gave us a starting briefing, got us started after an initial briefing. The lake was marvellously calm and all of us felt comfortable enough to give it a go within the first 30 mins or so. After a break, we were all feeling far more confident and keen to give it a proper go. Ivan was wonderful throughout, gave us many little tips and we all left very happy and keen to practice our newly acquired paddle boarding skills. The fresh watermelon and fruit in the end was the cherry on the cake!

SUP around the lakes/enjoying the nature

We decided spontaneously to write Ivan the evening before the tour and he replied pretty fast, so we met him the next morning and started an amazing tour with him (2 people). We learned the basics how to paddle and went all around the lakes, doing some stops to swim, rest, learn about the nature/surroundings and to enjoy some seasonal fruits. The tour lasted around 3 hours and we are very happy that we decided to do it. If you have the time, you should definitely stop by. BTW, he did amazing pictures and videos of us (this was the plus of the tour!!)
