This was my first night in Sicilia . I really liked how Francesca explained the history of Catania , social dynamics and culture of Catania and Sicilia, while sharing her knowledge of the cuisine of Catania. It was intimate and joyful and it was fun to get to know people in the tour. Recommend!

Francesca was a brilliant guide. She was really friendly and passionate about Catania and the food here. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Catania and was happy to answer questions. She had a good sense of humour and was not pushy about people eating things if they didn’t like them. There was plenty of food and drink on the tour. We all loved different food items and there was plenty of chat about differences in cultures. Great tour, definitely would recommend.

Gisella took us on a fun, tasty, and adventurous (for me) food adventure. Plus she easily made our diverse group a “family” for a few hours. She combined knowledge and humor as she guided us to off the beaten path tasting experiences. The pace was fast enough to keep our interest yet easy enough for this septuagenarian ‘grandpa.’ I had a great time.

My first time in Italy and all I want to do is eat good and drink fine. But where to go? The local Steaty Catania Street food tour was incredibly vast and fulfilling. We got to try arancini the way it was meant to be tasted, horse meatballs I didn’t know could be so delicious, and the creamiest gelato I have ever had. Our local guide Davide did the perfect job of balancing history, context, and humor—nothing forced or contrived. Our one mistake was having a little antipasto beforehand; save room in your belly for all of Catania’s feast.
