Meeting points

Look for your guide wearing a white hat at Wells Hill Park (145 Hilton Ave, Toronto, ON M5R 3E9). The park is located on the south side of St. Clair Ave West, directly across the street from the Loblaws Supermarket, and the St. Clair West subway station (370 St. Clair W).

The experience ends with one of the best views of the Toronto skyline at the top of the Baldwin steps. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk back to the starting point, or you can choose to descend the steps and make your way to Dupont subway station.

    The first half of the experience will have us discover the delicious and diverse food along St. Clair West. We'll visit five unique local food outlets and spend some time in each place, hearing about the vendor, and their offerings in this fascinating neighbourhood. Exact vendors may vary per experience.

    Walk through the artist live-work space, which has been expertly eco-designed to meet Platinum LEED certification. Explore the buildings roots as a repair barns for the St. Clair streetcar.

    View the exterior of this shimmering architectural example of Edwardian-elite. Learn about the powerful rivalary between the Austins and Pellats at Casa Loma. View the skyline of the city from atop the Baldwin Steps.

So many delicious discoveries!!

This was such a great tour experience! As a relative newcomer to Toronto I learned a lot from Maya about the St Clair neighborhood. The stories and facts she shared were up to date and relevant and she has such a great personality for giving tours and sharing information. Everything was wonderful before even discussing the food! On the food front, it's clear Maya put a lot of thought into the vendors she partnered with. They obviously have a good rapport as each owner/vendor was genuinely happy to discuss their offerings and speak about their business with us. Even better, all the food we tried was delicious! While we did make a lot of stops and tried a bunch of different cuisines the timing was thought out and interspersed with walking so we never got too full. Truly highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning about a different part of Toronto and discovering some new and delicious restaurants! I'll for sure be going back to all the places we visited!

This tour organized by Maya was so beyond what I had expected. She chose such great food sources and, even better, shared the history of the diverse neighborhoods we walked through so the group learned lots about Toronto too. Take this tour - you will not be disappointed!

We had an amazing day with Maya as our guide as we got to experience the real Toronto and its wonderful cuisine. She took us to this little coffee shop where we had the most amazing cherry pie. I normally don’t like cherry but it was absolutely delicious. And we had the most incredible falafel I’ve ever eaten. I can’t recommend this tour enough and Maya is so knowledgeable and such a warm and friendly person. Do yourself a favor and take this tour.
