Overview

Rio has one of the most beautiful shores in the country. The south shore is an ideal tour for those who have already seen the highlights in the city and want to taste a bit of Rio's "countryside" and secluded beaches of the south. In the Barra area and the far southwest shore is where you meet sea and forest at its best. A few good seafood restaurants will complete your day.

Itinerary

  • Prainha Beach

    We will drive southwards through Barra and Recreio beaches to reach the wild beaches in the south. Depending on the weather conditions, we can swim or visit the Casa do Pontal Museum. Lunch at one of the Seafood restaurants is a possibility and shopping for crystal and semi-precious stones is also possible on our way back into town.

The best way to kick off a visit to Rio

Marco’s tour was one of the highlights of our trip—he is so knowledgeable and was able to answer almost any question. It was a great way to understand a new city, and made the rest of our trip more fun, knowing so much more about the place than we could have ever discovered on our own. I especially loved that he tweaked the tour along the way based on the things that excited us the most. We learned so much, and had so much fun chatting with him along the way. We left feeling like Marco is an old friend. He even sent dining recommendations for the day after the tour. We can’t wait to hang out with Marco on our next trip to Rio!
