Overview

Prepare yourself for an adventure that balances the thrill of sailing Howe Sound's legendary winds with the breathtaking views of the Coastal and Tantalus mountain ranges. We will depart from the docks in Squamish (about 40 minutes north of Vancouver on the highway to Whistler) and raise the sails as we pass beneath the legendary Stawamus Chief granite monolith and Shannon Falls. Regardless of expertise or ability, you will learn about sailing and experience unbounded excitement as the wind fills our sails and accelerates our 40' sailboat across the waters of Canada's southernmost fjord. Take a turn at the helm or grind a winch to trim sails - the more involved you become, the more fun you will have. We will explore the northern section of the Howe Sound fjord and promise many photo opportunities that will stand amongst the highlights of your trip. With a little luck, we may even sight a pod of dolphins or Orcas! Welcome aboard - let's have some fun.

Meeting points

Drive towards Squamish on highway 99, also known as the Sea-to-Sky highway. Look for the McDonalds and turn south onto Cleveland Ave. Pass through downtown and turn left on Vancouver St at the end of Cleveland Ave. The docks are straight ahead. Park in the gravel lot and we'll meet you on the pier.

Itinerary

Best sailing adventure

All I can say is that my boyfriend and I have always had sailing on our bucket list. Due to a foot injury we were unable to hike the Sea to Sky so felt the water was an alternative and was an incredible surprise for him. We had a later sail and the sun was shining and the wind was heavy - perfect sailing conditions. Even better was that you got to help steer, tack and pull the ropes and act as a general crew - this was the most fun my partner and I had in a long time. He thought we were going for a couples massage (as the alternative) - clearly, more of an adventurer. I want to thank Dave and Sydney and the guests who were on our ride - everyone was so down to earth and we had a blast.

Great Experience

This was absolutely amazing for my wife, myself and our daughter to celebrate a 49th. Anniversary. Canadian Coastal Cruises in Squamish was so professional and fun. We can highly recommend them as they involved all of the people on the trip. Great people with a great disposition for making a very enjoyable experience.

Such a great experience! Excellent crew of Dave, James and Sarah. So fun. Perfect sea to sky day. The crew really read the vibes of our group and offered options and info accordingly. Very professional. Can’t wait to find an excuse to go again.

This is the best Viator tour we have ever done. So glad we chose this outing. David and Rebecca are perfect hosts- hospitable, funny, witty and welcoming. The scenery is incredible the boat is stunning and we enjoyed “learning the ropes” a little bit. This is level 1 fun for sure and would highly recommend this experience if you love the worlds best landscapes and the freedom of the wind in your sails and hair!
